Protected But Adventurous

Description

This loon couple was enjoying the independence that the juvenile loon was displaying. The little guy would venture off but not to far dive under the water and come back up looking for the parents. One of the parents would call out to make sure the little one had its bearings. In this picture the little one swam forward and stopped to peer over at me. I loved the interaction and the light bouncing off its beak.
